Frequently Asked Questions
I applied for a Direct Loan and a Parent PLUS Loan. What is a Master Promissory Note? The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is a promissory note that can be used to make one or more loans for one or more academic years (up to 10 years). Funds will be disbursed to your student account to pay for tuition and fees, any excess amount of money will go to you, either in the form of a check in the mail or directly deposited to your bank account, depending on what you have set up. Complete the MPNs for both the Federal Direct Student Loan and the Parent PLUS loan online @ www.dlenote.ed.gov. You will sign the MPN electronically with the pins used to sign the FAFSA. |
