What are emergency loans?

WWU offers a short-term emergency loan program that is available in 30, 60, or 90-day repayment periods to assist students with occasional cash flow emergencies. The loan will not pay charges on the Western student account, and borrowers must not have a past-due balance on their account. Loan applications are reviewed to determine the applicant’s ability to repay the loan. Applications may be denied when loan repayment is in question, the circumstances do not appear urgent, or the applicant appears to be over-reliant on the short-term emergency loan program.
