What kinds of student loans are available?

Federal Direct Loans are a major form of financial aid for students. Western participates in the Direct Loan Program; the U.S. government is the lender for this program. Any student who has applied for financial aid and has completed all the necessary steps required by our office may be eligible for a Federal Direct Loan. Students will be offered either a subsidized or unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan depending on eligibility requirements. Parents of dependents students may also be offered a Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) to assist in funding the student cost of attending college.
