Summer Financial Aid Application Now Available
Western’s Summer 2014 Financial Aid Application is now available via Web4U. The priority application deadline is Friday, May 16th.
To request summer quarter financial aid, complete the application as soon as your summer plans are finalized. In addition to the summer financial aid application, a 2013-2014 FAFSA is also required to apply for summer financial aid. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov. Students who have already completed their 2013-2014 FAFSA for the current school year do not need to update their FAFSA. Students who have not already submitted their current year FAFSA must do so by June 30. The Financial Aid Department will begin summer processing in late May.
Important reminder: By registering for summer term, you incur a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees even if you have no summer term financial aid eligibility. This debt may be cancelled only if you officially withdraw via Web4U or by contacting the Registrar’s Office before the appropriate course refund deadline. Contact our office at (360) 650-3470 before you register if you have eligibility questions or if you are unable to complete the application online.
Summer Aid Eligibility: Financial aid eligibility during summer quarter is limited to Direct Loan and Pell Grant (for Pell-eligible students). The amount of federal student financial aid you can receive in summer is limited to the annual eligibility you have remaining after the previous fall, winter and spring disbursements.
- PLUS Loan is also available for graduate students and dependent undergraduates, up to their summer cost of attendance
- If you have exhausted your federal loan eligibility, more information about alternative financing options is available online.
