The goal of the June R. Chaus Scholarship is to assist students who are committed to working for social justice, and who may have been disadvantaged due to race, ethnicity, national background, religious affiliation or sexual orientation. In order to be eligible you must have been admitted to an approved undergraduate or graduate institution in the Pacific Northwest. Are pursuing studies in human services, health care, education, public affairs, or a related field. Have demonstrated financial need. Have demonstrated strong academic aptitude. Are considered to be minority students, based on race, ethnicity, religious affiliation or sexual orientation.

Albert K. Murray Fine Arts Educational Fund

Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf, Inc.

In order to be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria: Spoken communication must be the student’s primary mode of communication. Hearing loss must have been diagnosed prior to age seven (during the language-learning years). Hearing loss must be bilateral and in the moderate to profound range. Applicants must have an unaided Pure-Tone Average (PTA) of 60dB or greater in the better hearing ear in the speech frequencies of 500, 1000 and 2000 Hz. Applicant must be enrolled in or have applied to a mainstream and accredited college/university as a full-time student. Applicants in the United States must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 non-weighted scale. Complete details can be found on the donors website.

Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program

The American Cancer Society Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program gives young cancer survivors the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education from an accredited university, community college, or vocational technical school. To be eligible applicant must be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21 and be age 25 or younger at the time of application. You must be scheduled to graduate from high school and/or continuing college in the upcoming school year. Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington or Wyoming. Be accepted without condition to an accredited university, college, community college or vocational technical school. Must have a 2.5 GPA or above and be enrolled full time in the upcoming academic year.

Scholars Program

This scholarship is designed to encourage African American, Native American and Hispanic students planning to pursue full-time study in a chemically-related field with outstanding academic records and a desire to pursue a career in the chemical sciences can apply for an ACS Scholars Award. To be considered for a scholarship through the ACS Scholars Program, candidates must meet the following criteria: be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident. Be a full-time student at a high school or accredited college, university, or community college. Demonstrate high academic achievement in chemistry or science (Grade Point Average 3.0, "B" or better). Be a graduating high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science OR intending to or already pursuing a degree in chemical technology. Be planning a career in the chemical sciences and demonstrate financial need.

Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students

Applicants must be students who are underrepresented minorities in the accounting profession (e.g., Black/ African American; Hispanic/Latino; Native American; or Asian American). Must be full-time undergraduate students (12 semester hours or equivalent) or graduate students (9 semester hours or equivalent). Exceptions are students completing their final semester of study. Applicants must have completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting. Applicants on the undergraduate level must be declared accounting majors (as indicated on the transcript or by a signed letter from the department of school of business head indicating major). Applicants on the graduate level must have been accepted to a masters-level accounting, finance, taxation or other related masters-level program for the 2009-2010 academic year.
