Job Title and Description:
Volunteer Coach
We are currently seeking adult female volunteers to be head or assistant coaches at our program sites in North Whatcom County: Blaine, Ferndale, Lynden and Nooksack Valley. The fall session starts the week of September 22 and goes through the week of December 1. Program sites meet once or twice a week depending on program location. We provide thorough training for all new coaches (required). As Girls on the Run is a non-competitive running program, there is an easy-to-follow curriculum designed to teach valuable life lessons to girls in grades 3rd-5th. Lessons include subjects such as emotional health, values, cooperation and standing up for oneself. The program finishes with a celebration event that includes a fun 5k event. Coaches do not need to be elite runners. Any woman who is committed to making a difference in the lives of girls is welcome to apply. To request an application or for more information, contact Amber at 733-8630 or aswim@whatcomymca.org.
